prelude
And just like that, one more winter is upon us. We’re once again called to respond to a season of frenetic routine. Cooking, wrapping presents, faking smiles. The magic of the holidays comes and goes in the blink of an eye and it leaves us with a general feeling of seasonal depression.
I used to hate the cold seasons because they took out of me all of the energy to even complete the easiest tasks. I used to spend days in bed, thinking about how much I hated winter. But I realised how *whimsical* it can actually be and recently re-discovered the magical charm it had on me when I was a little kid. I vividly remember one of my earliest Christmases when I was about five and got gifted the house of Snow White. My goal for this Christmas is to live and appriciate every moment, just like I did when I was a child.
Afterall, winter is here to remind us to find the light inside ourselves. When it starts to get dark and cold, we need to bring our own sun and its energy into our home. And we must remember to take a moment and just rest. Doing nothing, for a day or two (that’s my favorite activity!!).

WHO IS THE WEIRD WOMAN
The weird woman is a witch. The weird woman is all of us. As Elisabeth Sankey says in her latest documentary, Witches, every woman is a witch. And she encourages us to embrace our personal bad witch. Yes, because one woman that slightly doesn’t fit in is immediately addressed as a witch, as a mad woman or as a weird woman. We, as one big coven, must walk in as who we really are: weird, mad, witches.
IN: colored tights, family things, living in the moment, expressing gratitude, celebration, wandering in the dark in a ghost-like dress, the hermit tarot card, reading/telling stories by the fireplace, whimsical outfits, childlike vision of things, feeding local animals, decorating yule trees, femme fatale style, slow living.
OUT: guilt, shame, fitting in, punishing yourself, high screen-time and infinite scrolling, keeping it all inside and letting it consume you.
